Speaker: Olga Alexeeva, author, speaker, and former gallery owner whose life bridges two worlds – the Soviet Union and the United States

Our featured speaker will be Olga Alexeeva, who was born and raised in USSR. She spent most of her early life under the Soviet regime, experiencing firsthand the realities behind the headlines: the communal apartments, the culture of endurance, the limits on personal freedom, and the quiet strength of everyday people. She immigrated to America in 1991, just months before the collapse of the USSR, carrying with her one suitcase, a theater education, and the determination to begin again. She began a new life from the ground up – working entry-level jobs, learning a new language, and eventually founding and operating two successful art galleries in Nashville. She is the author of From Russia to America: A Quest for Purpose & Joy, a memoir that weaves personal story with historical context, offering a deeply human perspective on what it means to live through political change and to start over in a new country.

The dinner meeting begins on Tuesday, May 19, at 6 pm at Carriage Lane Inn, located at 337 East Burton Street, Murfreesboro.

MEMBERSHIP – The membership year begins January 1, of each year. Dues for 2026 are $35. Membership is not required to attend meetings; however, it is necessary for voting at meetings.
RWRC received the 2026 Liberty Builders Brigade award for increasing our membership by more than 10% over last year’s count before July 4th. Thank you all for your continued commitment.
